This morning we attended a multi vehicle RTC on the A66, one driver failed the roadside breath test, then failed again in custody. The driver stated they had a bottle of wine last night and thought it would be ok to drive this morning. Luckily no injuries #fatal4

In the early hours of this morning the driver of this car had a lucky escape… they had already crashed into 1 vehicle, then into a lamppost. Upon officers arriving, the driver stated they’d just had 15 pints then failed to provide at the roadside. They’re now awaiting bloods

Today a driver decided to try & impede myself & an ARV travelling on blues to an emergency by driving towards us in the centre of the road & waving both hands at us. He got a shock when TheARVSgt then stopped him shortly afterwards! He’d only been driving 3 weeks! TOR issued 🚓

Day 1 of the Roads Policing medics course completed… a lot of theory today with some practical, tomorrow is a lot of practical work I am told!

That’s the RPU medic course completed today, such an intense course but very very interesting. The skills learnt by us all will hopefully help save lives

For those unaware, the new changes in law have started today regarding handheld devices while driving or in control of a vehicle, not only mobile phones but tablets too. If it’s not in a cradle, leave it alone.

The driver of this vehicle believed his policy allowed him to drive other vehicles, unfortunately he didn’t check before borrowing a mates car #Seized
