This is incredibly anti-science and will kill and disable millions. The whole left should be screaming about it, but 90% are cowardly/ignorant fucks who ate up all the corporate propaganda about Covid

Led by Ya'el Courtney, PhD and out today in Nature Neuroscience: the brain's fluid-secreting organ — the choroid plexus — can reshape neural development through a powerful, little-known process. & it can be hijacked by serotonergic drugs like LSD. 🧠👇 A thread rdcu.be/eoaSY

Maternal exposure to the psychedelic LSD triggered the same ChP secretory response. Within 30 minutes, nearly 70% of embryonic ChP cells formed aposomes. This suggests serotonergic drugs in pregnancy may directly alter brain development via the CSF.

We uncovered a new serotonergic axis — from the ChP to the CSF — that sculpts the developing brain. It’s powerful, fast, and vulnerable to disruption. This work opens a new window into how 🤰 influence lifelong brain function. 📖 Full paper: rdcu.be/eoaSY

Brilliant work from Ya'el Courtney, PhD Lehtinen Lab on novel choroid plexus-centered signaling system and its involvement in shaping mechanisms of maternal-fetal interplay during brain development. Next up: role for these choroid plexus-based mechanisms after birth, including in

My paper came out in nature neuro today. We paid a TON for it to come out. Took 16 months of review. And after peer review? The editorial team asked me to cut my methods by more than 50% in length. And we wonder why there’s a reproducibility crisis????? THAT. >

Ya'el Courtney, PhD (@scienceyael) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Yoy know WHY they asked to cut? They pay copy editors to go through methods line by line. I guess the $10K plus we paid for the privilege of publishing with them isn’t worth them paying an editor to review the meticulously crafted methods section I wrote to endure reproducibility

Adam, who is Jewish and a Professor at Harvard, eloquently outlines why the government attacks on Harvard are just using antisemitism as a pretext for an ideology war that benefits no one! Just a sad and awful situation for all Harvard researchers.

Congratulations Ya'el Courtney, PhD! Your speech was inspiring, and yes, the onus is on us to communicate science. Challenge accepted! Ya'el's excellent speech is around minute 14 youtube.com/watch?v=1gXanA…

An epidemiologist at Columbia had to issue a statement saying the research article RFK Jr. cited with her name is FAKE. The paper itself doesn’t EXIST. Yall this is fascism. FAKE scientific articles used by the government to influence policy is FASCISM. This is horrifying.

This was truly an exceptional speech by my friend Ya'el Courtney, PhD. "Imagine a generation of Harvard PhDs who count impact not in citations, but in how many communities we reach." A critical reminder on how we communicate science and how we restore public trust.
