Christmas Tributes - relatives frequently leave items which are dangerous to wildlife and toxic to the fauna. Please think twice before doing it. All items will be removed on 6th January. We aren't being malicious, we're just protecting the woodland and your loved ones.

Great to see hundreds of new trees planted at the woodland this spring. There are two hundred holly trees in this picture alone - protected with anti rabbit fencing!

Violets are blue... Wild violets (viola odorata) can be seen throughout our woodland. This native wildflower favours woods and thickets, blooming from now until the early summer months. More details here facebook.com/stalbanswoodla…

There is a growing awareness of the environmental cost of burying our dead. More people are now choosing a "natural" or "green burial," where a body is laid to rest without harming the Earth. cnn.it/3tu4pwV

A beautiful time of year - cherry blossom brightening up the woodland. Here are a couple of pictures taken in Swallow Glade this week. The woodpeckers continue to elude me though...

Thanks to the 30 volunteers from St Andrews Church, @standrewsbed Bedford who helped us plant over a 1,000 bulbs today. Looking forward to seeing them in the Spring when they all start blooming. Wild garlic, wild daffodil and tulip, just some of the many varieties planted.

Thanks to everybody who turned out to help us at the weekend to tidy the woodland after Christmas. There was a noticeable reduction in unsuitable items which was great to see. Thank you.
