This paper takes effects of Tulsa pre-K on high school graduation to predict lifetime earnings effects. Even if we assume very modest proportion of increased college attenders get degrees, lifetime earnings benefits 2.65 times pre-K costs

There is strong bipartisan support for doing more to help young kids. Steven Dow, former director of CAP Tulsa. Let’s hope!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Check out the link for the full working paper. Pre-k in #Tulsa works and benefits the children and community.

And if you don’t want to read the research brief try this! Our long term study of #PreK in #tulsa has shown some remarkable and long term effects. BillGormley @DataDHP

Fascinating study. And not just because I’m a New Years baby and my parents complained about not having the tax deduction a year early. Yet again we’re seeing that money helps families and keeps helping

As someone who lived with her grandma growing up because she was free child care (and lovely and amazing) this is obvious. But data crystallizes anecdote.

Another great summary with what prek has meant for Tulsa. Grateful for good local coverage to raise up a program that does so much for what is already a great community.

I'm pretty sad I'm not teaching research methods anymore but only because I can't show this to teach correlation isn't causation.

Additional coverage of research with BillGormley and @DataDHP about pre-K &high school graduation and college enrollment plus Anna D. Johnson w/ the findings on pre-K and self-regulation. Lots of antipoverty talk by the feds this week. Let's keep pre-K in the conversation

One more example of how child care is broken. Our child care workers provide critical care and deserve to be well compensated.
