I sent the following out to the parents and caregivers in my class today, including this picture I posted earlier this morning. Hi there families, The attached picture is floating around in teaching circles and I am attaching it to this message for a reason.

Well said. First morning of schools back, how many parents are already struggling to juggle their own family needs, their job or lack of, and now answer a myriad of questions about math, reading writing and science. We as teachers just want to know how your getting on!

You know those tight All Black games where it looks even until the last 20mins when we pull away & win convincingly? Today NZ got the scoreboard even, but it's our collective action over this next period that determines what our last 20 is going to look like. *0 new cases today*

Remote learning has really emphasised that physical schools are only one piece of the larger eco-system of learning. Learning is now, more than ever before, connected with our student homes, whanau and online environment. #connectedlearning

So ... if a recent poll saying over 80% of the country support the government's actions during this crisis is true, why do our media find all the stories from the less than 20% who just want to complain?
