This monsoon, 'Snake Awareness Program' are being organized in the buffer villages and schools of the STR. More than 2000 villagers and students have actively participated in this initiative. Together, we spread knowledge, save lives, and protect wildlife.

Dog Squad Joins STR! From Jan 26, 2025, FG Sarika Jadhav (Dog Handler) & FG Anil Kumbhar (Asst. Handler) trained 28 weeks at ITBP , Panchkula from TRAFFIC INDIA-WWF. FG Sarika topped exams among 8 states ! 🎯 Reported to Kolhapur Forest Circle to protect wildlife & forests.

Under the Tiger Recovery Project, a Prey Augmentation is being undertaken in STR. To strengthen the prey base, Sambar and Chital will be translocated to the reserve from Sagareshwar WLS, Katraj and Solapur Zoos. STR is now fully prepared for this important conservation step!

Celebrating National Wildlife Day

A training session on ‘Technical Rescue of Tigers, Leopards, and other Wild Animals’ was organized today at Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR), Karad. Range Forest Officers of Chandoli Division, STR, along with internship students from Mumbai Veterinary College, actively participated.

सह्याद्री व्याघ्र राखीव परिसरातील स्थानिक नागरिकांनी आपल्या व्याघ्र अभिमानाचे दर्शन घडवत वाघांना ‘सेनापती’, ‘सुभेदार’ व ‘बाजी’ अशी लोकप्रिय नावे दिली आहेत. या नावांमुळे स्थानिक लोकांचा वाघांशी असलेला आत्मीय संबंध अधिक दृढ झाला असून, संवर्धनाबरोबरच लोकसहभागाची भावना बळकट झाली आहे.
