Very dissapointing to hear of these barriers preventing Gabin Mbanjumucyo from lecturing in person in the UK. Not only is he a dynamic & engaging speaker, he does an amazing job representing the growth and story of Rwandan EM. Shame on the structures blocking an invited Royal College of Emergency Medicine speaker!
Mortality in the ED dropped from 6.3% to 1.2% at just one year post introduction of EM specialist training in Kigali Gabin Mbanjumucyo #rcemgem Royal College of Emergency Medicine
Following introduction of specialist EM training it was found that although Kigali contributed to a whopping 56% of all road traffic accidents in Rwanda, the mortality proportion was a mere 9%. Gabin Mbanjumucyo #rcemgem Royal College of Emergency Medicine
The tremendous effect of introducing specialist EM training in Kigali exposed the inadequacies in rest of the system. Both prehospital and inhospital. This has been a big driver of system change. Gabin Mbanjumucyo #rcemgem Royal College of Emergency Medicine
