Yesterday we enjoyed watching Bar-tailed godwits fuelling in the #WaddenSea at Balgzand. Here they forage in dense groups on mudshrimp corophium. There was no wind and we could hear some displaying godwits on top of the bubbling sounds of the mudflats. #fieldwork Wadden & Delta Centre

Rosse #grutto vrouw JISP werd gezenderd in PWN bij VRS Castricum. Ze is nu aan het opvetten op het #Balgzand. De meeste rosse grutto's daar zijn overigens mannen, die oostelijker voor kust van #Wieringen slijkgarnaaltjes aan eten. Dat gedrag kenden we nog niet! Fotos Roeland Bom

Waar mogelijk, graag geslachtsratios scoren bij Rosse Gruttos, bijv in subgroepjes van 100 vogels -> langlopend Wadden & Delta Centre onderzoek naar de verspreiding van opvettende RG. Zitten er meer ♀♀ bij de eilanden? Mannetjes zijn nu dieprood.
