Our scientific payloads launch to the Moon with @Astrobotic and @ULALaunch. This is the first American commercial robotic lunar launch and the next step in our mission to explore the Moon with #Artemis. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

From development and testing on Earth through a soft touch down on the lunar surface, the Peregrine lunar lander has five distinct mission phases, each with its own unique objectives:

The first U.S. commercial robotic launch to the Moon successfully lifted off Jan. 8 on the first flight of @ULALaunch’s #VulcanRocket. @Astrobotic’s Peregrine Mission 1 lander is expected to reach the lunar surface in February: go.nasa.gov/3NVw46S

After a successful launch this morning, Astrobotic is assessing a propulsion issue with its lunar lander. Check @Astrobotic for updates. Each mission is an opportunity to learn. We're proud to work with our partners to advance exploration of the Moon. go.nasa.gov/3NTYKgx

We are working with @Astrobotic to identify the root cause of the propulsion issue and evaluate how it affects NASA’s five science investigations aboard the spacecraft. Space is hard. We support our vendors and look forward to learning all we can. go.nasa.gov/47tPDKG

SLIM’s mission does not end with landing! I’ll observe the surroundings to investigate the mystery of the Moon’s formation. Let’s take a closer look at this olivine with my multiband camera (MBC) and compare it to that on Earth 👀 #JAXA #SLIM #GoodAfterMoon

Here's the final few of days of #SLIM around the Moon. After today's orbital change the final orbital changes occur during the final orbit at apolune and then perilune just before landing. So SLIM is all setup it appears for the final sequence of the landing attempt.

JAXA Update on SLIM: Lander did land, they have comms, but the solar cell is not generating electricity. On battery power. Trying to maximize science. LEV separated as planned but JAXA needs more time to gather data. youtube.com/watch?v=nvXLt3…

#japan -5th nation to soft-land on the #moon ❤️🇯🇵🫡 "We believe that the soft-landing itself was successful..if the descent from 10kms height didn't happen well, it would've crashed..but, it is still sending us data properly. Soft-landing successful" #JAXA official #SLIM #space

Japan's SLIM spacecraft lands on moon. JAXA said that the solar panel on SLIM is not functioning. The malfunction of SLIM's solar panel could reduce the time that the craft will be able to operate.  Slim choose one of the most challenging terrain for soft landing.
