Outbreaks of scabies in detention impact the health and well-being of detainees, the detention staff and their families. To control the spread, we supported Tawqif prison authorities in #Kabul in conducting a 4-day scabies campaign.

Rights of people deprived of liberty do not end behind bars: their life and dignity must be respected. This includes access to essential services, prevention of ill-treatment, and compliance with judicial guarantees, among others.

Our new physical rehabilitation centre in #Helmand opened one year ago. It provides much-needed treatment & support to thousands of people from Zabul, Kandahar, Nimruz and Helmand.

As thousands of Afghans are returning from Pakistan, some for the first time, the prospects must be daunting. افغاني سره میاشت provides humanitarian support to those in need. They are distributing hot meals & water at the temporary shelters and provide health care.

Clearing blocked roads after the earthquake in #Kunar presents unique challenges due to the region’s rugged & mountainous terrain. ICRC Afghanistan stepped up its support to local authorities to help restore access to isolated communities, ensuring that vital aid reaches those in need.

The ARCS volunteers are working tirelessly to set up camps for families who lost everything in the #Kunar earthquake 7 days ago & are in urgent need of shelter. ICRC Afghanistan is supporting the ARCS operation with tents, portable latrines, essential non-food items and bottled water.

In Mazar valley, Kunar province, villages lie in ruins. Families, especially women & children, struggle in tents with limited food, drinking water & healthcare. Alongside Afghan Red Crescent | افغاني سره میاشت, the ICRC is providing assistance to the most vulnerable. But more support is needed.
