Important addition to the conversation about improving student outcomes. The portfolio model implemented in DPS had a clear theory of action, one I don't see in most district improvement efforts.

A HS in the district where I am on the Board is named after the Arapahoe Nation. 20 years ago the school established a relationship with the Nation, named the gym after Anthony Sitting Eagle, and started regular exchanges. Today was the first in 5 yrs. Wonderful!

The thing that makes me the most sad about Sinead's passing is that I was not surprised. It has been obvious that she was struggling and clearly had been through heartbreaking events but all of our love and admiration for her work and voice was not enough to help her.

As my eight years on the LPS Board wind down, it is nice to have these events that recap some of the things we have been working on.

NCES just released data on principal & teacher attrition during the pandemic (from 2021 to 2022). Principal attrition was slightly up, teacher attrition was flat. Not surprising given the economic uncertainty of the time. nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/pubs… #edresearch
