Launched at 3pm after a local private angling boat called Humber Coastguard to report engine problems. Vessel located and towed back into Staithes harbour.

Launched at 4:20pm to standby off Boulby whilst Coastguard teams were sent to assist what appeared to be 2 persons stuck on the cliff. Persons made their own way to safety.

Launched at 1215 to the assistance of a fishing vessel from Hartlepool which had broken down 4 miles NW of Staithes. Located the vessel and towed towards the river Tees and passed the tow to Hartlepool ALB which then towed the vessel to Hartlepool. We returned to Staithes at 1420

With deepest regret we announce the passing of Grant Mckee after a period of illness. Grant was the station Press Officer for a number of years and used his extensive media experience to full affect for the benefit of the station and RNLI Our thoughts are with Grant’s family.

We are extremely pleased to announce that today Crew-member Luke Hutchinson passed all the tests to become our newest Helmsman. Luke has been on the crew for several years and is also a RNLI Lifeguard. Congratulations Luke....all the hard work paid off!

Launched at 12:15pm after a fishing vessel picked up a Kayaker who had fallen out of his Kayak approximately 2 miles off Skinningrove. The lifeboat took the casualty to the lifeboat station where he was treated for severe hypothermia after being in the water for over 30 minutes.

Launched at 5:10pm after reports of kayakers in difficulties off Skinningrove. The lifeboat arrived on scene to discover two divers operating from Kayaks and all was well. Full marks to the first informant though for calling for help. If in doubt call us out
