Non-linear work days are the future of work for a very simple reason. You’re probably already doing it. If you take time to walk the dog, play with the kids. It’s a non-linear work day. What remains is for businesses to make flexibility policy. bit.ly/3Q3DaX7

Employees who feel recognised are: 🧠 40% more engaged in their work 💪 More confident 🤔 Better informed 🤝 Less likely to quit We know that distributed work does wonders for productivity – we need to ensure that those wins are recognised too. bit.ly/3TaHymJ

Collectively, we all have colossal potential for positive impact. Individually, it can be overwhelmingly difficult to know where to start. If you or your organisation is looking to affect positive change, find an opportunity on goodsted. goodsted.com/about-us

People expect me to give them a list of fancy programs that we use at Oyster®. Here’s that list👇 - Zoom - Slack - Notion - Miro - Asana The truth is, the tools are the least important part of the equation and are only as good as your people and the systems they work within.

I love distributed work because it fits my working style better. I don’t always do my best work shooting from the hip. I like to take time to sit and think on problems before coming up with a solution. Having the ability to decide how I approach a problem is a real gift.

Standard bereavement policies are outdated. They create stigma and isolate those going through a time when they need support the most. Employers should take a people-first approach guided by empathy and patience🙏 Full article: bit.ly/3WuIJQY

So often meetings are: ❌Mismanaged ❌Far too long ❌Without direction ❌Lacking substance And most could have been an email 👀 But, in order to build a successful hybrid or fully distributed company, meetings are essential. Here's how we do them: bit.ly/3Ygc6X1

A stumbling block that I still see in distributed work is productivity paranoia — the worry that managers can’t tell if employees are actually working. Here’s how to tell: Work is getting done. If the output is meeting expectations, the input doesn’t really matter, does it.
