A chilly start to the day. A hellebore from the Golden Lotus strain will soon perk up as the day warms. My spirits will certainly also do so as I plan to be in the garden today, planting seeds, listening to the birds and touching the earth.

Consider taking a moment to stop and have a closer look at the many beautiful lichen on tree trunks and branches. Incredible textures, colours and shapes. April showers bring so much more than just May flowers.

Anemone blanda ‘White Splendour’ is native to Greece. This cheerful Grecian windflower stands out in the spring garden with is large daisy like crisp white flowers. Definitely a favourite. #Ourgardensyourhome

Taking in the textural contrast of daylily leaves between the emerging peony foliage & the long lasting blooms of Helleborus ‘HGC Ice ‘n’ Roses Red’. Also noticed the golden stamens of the blooms echoed in the new growth of Vinca ‘24 Carat’. An unplanned look at that moment.

I’ve been invited back to Toronto Zoo to assist with my 4th Amorphophallus and pollination. A year or so ago, I was the first person in the world to use cryogenically frozen pollen from The Toronto Zoo to pollinate the bloom at McMaster University #Horticulture #botany #plantlife

Conceptual designs of the park include building on the natural and industrial heritage of the area, while honouring Indigenous place-making potential, linking Tommy Thompson Park to recent landscape improvements in the area. #PortLands
