Families are concerned that Baroness Amos meeting with families in Oxford today, as part of maternity review, has been facilitated by someone who previously secretly recorded bereaved & harmed parents & reported one to the police. As revealed by NS and C4 newstatesman.com/politics/healt…

This media coverage came about as a result of our campaign. For years we’ve heard experiences of denied caesareans, coercion, & inadequate care at OUH Maternity. We’re very grateful to the legal and media communities for listening. #FamiliesFailed #MaternitySafety

🚨 INVESTIGATION: Britain's maternity crisis has deeper roots, extending into the universities trusted to train the next generation of midwives. A majority are still promoting a normal birth ideology while women are more complex than ever: READ: thetimes.com/article/b4fe11…

The only helpful way forward is a full, judge led, public inquiry into maternity failings and harm across the UK. It is clear that this ‘rapid review’ is not fit for purpose.

So hang on a second: a review done quickly, and that has already discounted Trusts where vast amounts of avoidable harm has been done, will supersede advice from in depth reviews, done thoroughly and in Trusts that have and are failing families? That is DEEPLY worrying at best.

I’ve said it before, I will say it again: “Nothing about us, without us.” 1,486 families changed forever in Shrewsbury and Telford alone, nearly 2,500 in Nottingham, then there’s Oxford, Leeds…and on and on. How can 3, THREE possibly represent us all?!
