Automated IP filtering is mistakenly disabled on 0.6.5. Better to let this ON to avoid traffic forwarding attacks that make your friends report an IP that is not yours. See "Automatically ban range of DHT masquerading IPs" in preferences->network->IP filtering (except Tor nodes)

We changed a little bit the cryptographic protocols, so that it's now possible to connect by exchanging much shorter "IDs" instead of full PGP keys. Currently reviewing the code *in depth* to make sure that the security guaranties are fully kept.

It's definitely time to get rid of Sha1 in Retroshare handshake signature scheme. Fortunately the code has been compatible with Sha256 signatures for 2 years now, and the switch should not trigger any backward compatibility issues.

Unfortunately our umbrella organisation for Google Summer of Code (Freifunk), wasn't accepted this year, so we will not participate in the program. We'll certainly apply again next year! In the mean time, if you want to contribute for free to improve RS code, you're very welcome!
