Renton Schools will start 2 hours late on Wed, Nov. 20. Currently, 80% of our schools have lost power. With forecasts predicting high winds until 4 am and potential for downed trees and power lines, this is the best decision to start the school day off as safe as possible.

Due to many schools without power, all Renton Schools are closed today, Wed., Nov. 20, 2024. District office is closed. After-school sports, activities, & conferences canceled. We will update families/staff later today with tomorrow’s schedule

Renton Schools will be closed tomorrow, Nov. 21. We still have 17 schools without power. Puget Sound Energy has informed us that we should not expect power by the start of the school day and there are currently no estimates for restorations.

Due to a majority of our schools that remain without power, all Renton Schools are closed Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024. After-school athletics, activities, conferences canceled. We will communicate Friday’s schedule to families/staff tomorrow midday.
