Moved off the 80 acre field to a small side field of about 7 acres. Never had much off here, a few coins, but nothing older than Victorian, but I like to give it a chance now and then. Today paid off. A gorgeous George II silver shilling, 1758.

The Aqueduct of Valens, built in second half of 4th c., stretched across the valley east of the Holy Apostles between the City's Fourth and Third Hills. However it was not merely a bridge of arches, but an immense network that supplied Constantinople water for many centuries.
