Fantastic news! We are one step closer to having a loneliness strategy for NI. Thanks to every MLA who spoke in support of the motion. The Assembly unanimously agreed that we urgently need a cross-departmental, fully funded strategy led by The Executive Office #TacklingLoneliness

GPs are the way most of us access healthcare when we are sick. We need them to be open and accessible in our communities. It’s clear there needs to be a fundamental review of the funding of general practice in NI.

Recently funding/activity ⏬to 50%. Our leaders (Department of Health , Robin Swann BMA Northern Ireland ) need to recognise the importance of this multi-award winning service and fund it properly. An effective primary care will be the backbone in rebuilding our broken NI #NHS Time is running out!

🔼capacity in primary care = ⏬ in demand for routine 2dary care service across NI. GPECS has been shown in surveys to 🔼recruitment and likelihood of retention of doctors in primary care. We have an extremely high levels of patient satisfaction.
