I've built a few SaaS products that solve 'boring' problems. One hit $30K MRR. Took 5 years. Exited. If I can do it, you can, but don't look for shortcuts.

Just spoke to a potential future user of the app I'm thinking of building. He was pumped about the idea. I could hardly get a word in edgeways. Led me to a different angle for the MVP that could give it some virality. Just one data point though. Need more.

Mobile development tooling is a mess. Currently hacking through incomprehensible gradle errors with ChatGPT. No idea what I'm doing. It's a wonder anyone figures out how to ship an app to the app store. Respect if you have.

Selling to builders is very hard, as they tend to only buy from people who already have the success they want. You're much more likely to succeed in a different space, where users only care about whether you can solve their problems, not how much MRR or followers you have.

Why do vibe coders celebrate the insane ARR growth of vibe coding platforms like they're shareholders? I can't think of any other industry with this strange psychology.

AI coding detaches you from your work and erodes your confidence in your own abilities. And that's exactly what they want. So you have to pay to do what you could already do (better) without it. And spend more time fixing inane mistakes than solving real problems.
