"Court heard audio of an RCMP officer telling Sleydo’ and others..., ‘Last time you’ll see that camp,’ while passing the Gidimt’en Checkpoint. Sleydo’ said she wasn’t sure whether the officer was referring to the camp being destroyed or whether something would happen to them.”

TIFF must cut ties with RBC. RBC owns $700 millions dollars in shares in General Dynamics, an American weapons manufacturers selling bombs to Israel. We demand our arts institutions cut ties and stop being complicit in genocide from Turtle Island to Palestine.

Sad news to hear of the passing of Cathy Merrick, the grand chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. She traveled to unceded Algonquin Territory last September to take part in the #searchthelandfill protest. Merrick was a leading voice in the push for a search of the landfill.

Eighteen months after CRCC chairperson Michelaine Lahaie announced a systemic investigation of the RCMP C-IRG, it is unknown when that review will conclude. Allegations include excessive force, illegal tactics, racism and Charter violations. pbicanada.org/2024/09/09/aft… #AbolishCIRG

Reminds me of Ruth Cuthand’s beadwork, examining disease & health issues faced by Indigenous people as a direct result of settler colonialism. Both images are of Ruth’s work. One is a brain scan of OCD, the other “Small Pox”. Please credit ruthcuthand.ca
