From the Editorial Board: If New Yorkers are frustrated with Mayor Eric Adams, they should be careful not to trade him for someone who makes governance even harder. Trust us – we’ve been there. trib.al/uCc4Pfs

While many are familiar with the story of the Diamond Princess in Japan (and its primary lesson that covid was not a seriously dangerous illness), fewer know about the Echizen Maru which sailed from Argentina. All sailors spent two weeks in isolation before boarding, all tested

NYC Mayor situation seems straightforward to me. Everyone needs to rally around Adams. He had a bad start on covid policy (I think against his better instincts) but has turned out to be pretty good recently and even has some nice wins. City is recovering. Awful to ruin it.

So against Trump it's a "narrow factual accuracy" standard for press accountability, but for covid dissenters it was "anything within a mile of wrongthink" as grounds for immediate government censorship. How about agreeing on the former for both.

The New Yorker has a whole survey on the what's-wrong-with-teens literature and not once makes passing reference to the recent 3 year mass hysteria that shut down their entire non-virtual lives, closed their schools and sports, covered their faces and generally ruined everything

I'm shocked that Hong Kong businesspeople don't criticize a law they could be sent to jail for criticizing. I wonder why that it is. Too bad about those ticket scalpers though, right.

One of the great ironies of the past 15 years has been how predictably the children of global-citizen elites fall into the same behavioral sinks and develop the same susceptibilities to purposeless, narcissism, and ideological playacting DESPITE the extreme emphasis placed on

I know this is the same agony as anti-Trumpers for a decade now, but it really seems the media will get Mamdani elected just by talking about him incessantly. Can we all mutually agree to be bored and dismissive of his generic campus leftism instead of outraged? Thank you.

Five years after lockdowns and mandates decimated NY's urban vibrancy there is finally a tangible recovery taking hold at the street level, I see new openings everywhere. All it takes is moderately competent stewardship. Hard to accept that anyone really wants to go backwards.

Children in New York City were locked out of school continuously or for extended periods for more than 2 years from early 2020 to June 2022 when children were still being sent home for days at a time from school for ‘COVID exposures.’ Students missed out on key social and

Economically isn't "freezing the rent" largely just a transfer of wealth from landlords to employers, who don't need to pay more, and to stores, that don't need to charge less?

Could not be more overjoyed that Tim Walz is exiting the political scene. He really was just the worst, even apart from mishandling the fraud story. He was a covid tyrant, militantly enforcing social distancing and masking, even by setting up a snitch hotline. He said
