COMMENT: International law only works when the strong enforce it or find it in their interest to obey it. Otherwise, it's the Melian Dialogue all over again: the powerful do what they can, the weak suffer what they must, writes Ralph Schoellhammer. brusselssignal.eu/2025/06/intern…

"How many Ukrainians were saved by international law? How many Jews? They faced their own Melian dialogues with their adversaries and survived only through the strength of their arms." My latest for Brussels Signal.

Defending Christians would equal defending your own civilization, and an elite drenched in Oikophobia would rather see its girls groomed and raped (at home) or Christians killed (abroad) then do anything about it. "Civilisations die from suicide, not murder" (Toynbee).

The only "regime change" that matters is the Islamization of the West. That's the one that should be on top of every priority list, all the rest is just noise.

After thanking Israel for ‘doing the West’s dirty work’, this week Friedrich Merz called for a ceasefire in Gaza. Ralph Schoellhammer on the German Chancellor’s balancing act👇 buff.ly/awBPZip

After a failed mission in Gaza, a “young, angry person” now shows up in Budapest, rainbow flag flying, ready to offer unsolicited advice on how Hungarians should run their country—live from Budapest Pride. "Welcome" to 🇭🇺 Hungary, Greta Thunberg.

Germany more than doubled its electricity generating capacity while actual generation declined from 600TWh to 450TWh between 2000 and 2024. Less supply paired with higher demand means rising prices and more money spent on imports. This is -in a nutshell- the energy transition.

I am all for free speech, but also for taking what is being said seriously. So if some guy says under cheers that "this is no longer your country" we should not just talk about the right to speech, but also the content of it.

Zohran: “When you grow up in the Third World, you have a very different understanding of the Palestinian struggle.” But he didn’t grow up in the Third World. His Mum was a famous director and his dad was a professor and they were a rich family. So sick of the LARP.

You can grow up with all the privileges of growing up in the West, yet political success depends on LARPing as someone from the Third World. This only resonates with the "Bored Bourgeoisie" that has everything except genuine meaning - so they create fake ones.

If I look at the current state of the West, I wonder by what criteria the elites have been "smart and functional." How well have woke Democrats governed major cities in the US, how good a job did the Greens in Germany? Is the UK's Starmer "smart and functional"? I have doubts.

COMMENT: The danger is in thinking we can engineer society by logic alone. Every attempt to do so—whether by race, class, or algorithm—ends in disaster, writes Ralph Schoellhammer. brusselssignal.eu/2025/07/we-hav…

"Modern culture shaped by the Enlightenment still clings to religious characteristics, complete with sacred symbols (lab coat), high priests (Nobel laureates and Harvard professors), and heretics (conservatives, and the traditionally religious)." My latest for Brussels Signal.
