Rally to Read was held in 4 provinces over two weekends in May 2014 with its second phase commencing in September 2014

Literacy material was developed by READ-Edu-Trust according to standards of the Revised National Curriculum of Dep. Basic Education

HSRC approached Bidvest subsidiary, McCarthy, for help to reach some rural schools in KZN to study school resources.

Through READ-Edu-Trust the rally identifies schools in each province & for an intensive 3-year educational programme.

Rally to Read championed by Bidvest & READ-Edu-Trust is an initiative aimed at promoting literacy in schools

Schools visited already are in their 2nd year of the 3 year programme & combined serve a total of 2030 learners

Rally to Read enables the promotion of reading, writing and general communication among learners.

Rally to Read aims to offer better education by providing educational resources, teacher training and other material.

The Rally to Read programme hopes to deliver hope to rural learners, their teachers and their parents for a better future.
