Such awful/lazy design. There's no cohesive movement or idea here beyond "lets move forward" - not even a squeeze from the taker and 2nd line. What are the two closest City guys doing here beyond eliminating themselves from a play? Are those *really* likely 2nd ball locations?

Some thoughts on Man City’s last couple of games. There’s a combination of things going on but this is one of the more pressing (hehe) issues.

Probably the first time in the last 2 seasons I've seen the press click really well. Guehi + Khusanov's pace and physicality has given an edge to push high as well. Great response, hoping for more in the second half.

Not only this, but the general refereeing against City over the last two months has been abysmal. So many poor tackles have gone unnoticed in the refs eyes.

And you wonder why Doku is injured week in, week out? And when we speak out, when our players call out this kind of refereeing standards, suddenly we’re the ones looking for favours? It’s unacceptable. Shambolic officiating.

There was a phase of play yesterday where Silva completely controlled Liverpool's build-up, and he dominated the game, especially in the first half. Not only was he cutting off Liverpool's progressive options, but he was also scanning and adjusting for any errors in the press

Updated this, given the number of minutes both Nunes and O'Reilly have played this season. Essentially, the aerial-duel win rate for the most-used defenders across the back four. Rico Lewis 30.0% > Matheus Nunes 53.2% Ruben Dias 52.1% > 66.3% Manuel Akanji 46.9% > Nico

Happy to share a moment showing our transition from attack to defence. With a 3+1 rest defence structure and six players initially positioned above the ball, the priority after losing possession is an immediate collective reaction. Within seconds, the team reorganises: •
