Today my nearly 7-year-old told me that when I die he doesn’t want to bury or cremate me. Instead he wants to keep me near so he can see me. He’s going to put me in a cupboard and paint hearts and tears on it. I appear to be raising Norman Bates. 😬🫣

Imagine a world where we said, what’s going on with the children? So many of them are angry and distressed after school. So many of them are shut in their bedrooms. So many of them are anxious and unhappy. So many of them disillusioned at 15. 1;

It’s been enormous fun watching our 7-year-old transform into Thomas Taylor’s mermonkey from the Eerie-on-Sea book dispensary for #WorldBookDay. We have loved reading these books together and a character who gives people the books they need? Just perfect!

There’s no day quite like #worldbookday when you are an author and children (and teachers!) dress up as characters from your books!😸. Here are some of the Eerie pictures I’ve been tagged in today. Aren’t these costumes amazing? Please say hi if you see yourself here!

There is no consent to conversion therapy. By definition it is a fraudulent, pseudoscientific practice. No religious or psychological intervention - ritualised abuse - can change a person's sexuality. Those who make a distinction around 'coercion' do not understand the issue.

Sending love + solidarity to trans people everywhere. The last few years have been brutal. You didn’t ask to be at the centre of one of the most vicious culture war battles. Despite the backlash that increased visibility has brought recently, please know that you are loved. #TDoV

I am one of 479 staff members @edinburghuni to sign an open letter in protest at the university’s response to the marking and assessment boycott. These proposals threaten to undermine the integrity of our degrees. Our students deserve better.

I urge people to meet real trans and non-binary people, talk to them, understand them as individuals. Phobias feed on 'othering' people - once you count someone as a friend, phobias melt away. We are all human - this Pride can we try and see others as human.

I’ll finish with my summary: 1. Research on the health impacts of breastfeeding needs to be addressed at population not individual level. 2. Knowing that breastfeeding is associated with particular outcomes does not help anyone do it.

3. No one should feel guilty about not breastfeeding. 4. We should have an unbranded affordable unadvertised formula milk available at cost or for free for families who want to or have to use it. 5. We should train our HCPs to support breastfeeding effectively.

6. We need to look at societal levers around how we understand infant behaviour and feeding, and work to support parents with normal baby behaviour with honesty and compassion.
