Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia patients have been found to have an extra chromosome, made up of the fusion of two parts of two other chromosomes that break off

Drugs were developed to attack this rogue chromosome, and the Leukaemia was controlled. However in time, the leukaemia was able to progress independent of the original troublesome chromosome

The orthogonality thesis states that intelligence is independent of meaningful goals, meaning that there is no need to assume that super intelligence should be accompanied by bad intentions towards objects

Considering this, does the question of ethical approaches towards AI even make sense?

This might depend on being able to identify moral “facts” independent of cultural interpretations of ethical issues

The language used to describe AI can confuse the issue. Anthropomorphic terminology can lead us to assume false intentionality on behalf of AI, which may not be accurate
