Like many valued bars in San Francisco, the history of Pops Bar spans generations, several owners, and a lifetime of storied tales. Carl Joseph Saxsenmeier – also known as “Pops” – owned and operated “Pop’s Clubhouse” (at 2830-32 24th Street) from 1935 to 1941.
