I found it interesting as well, but also fairly one-sided. Ross Tucker has a few episodes that give what was imo missing in their story, eg pca.st/episode/7fdabc… And pca.st/episode/dab7d3…

It doesn’t make sense to have sports categories based on “identities”. That’s not the reason for having a female category, or weight classes for that matter. The reason are actual *physical* performance differences between males & females (and in some sports heavier athletes).

This is an example of what is often referred to as a "strawman" rhetorical technique. I didn't suggest a "correct historical method" - yet Alonso Gurmendi did so for me & then proceeded to refute "my" point w/his own view. This is a common tactic in debate, though not particularly

Alonso Gurmendi Hamas’ Oct 7 policy has led to: - 40k dead Palestinians - Gaza, Khan Yunis, Rafah destroyed - Hezbollah decapitated - Iran exposed as impotent - All prospects for future peace & prosperity vanquished Unrestrained terror has shown it’s obvious uselessness.

The people who believe Israel is a fake country and the people who believe Palestine is a fake country should all get together and be delusional together instead of annoying me in my comment section.

At some point in the future, I'll share a presentation that goes through male vs female physiological differences and the biological reality of sport, to explain what some have (wilfully) misunderstood. But for now, here's a pen review of this absurdity promoted by British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM)

Syria was not liberated by a foreign power. Assad was not toppled by a extremist movement seeking power. Syria was liberated from Assad by the Syrian people. Any comparison with Iraq or Afghanistan fails to recognize this. It was the Syrians who decided it was enough.

After over 10 hours of work! The doors of the “Red” prison of Sednaya are finally broken! New waves of detainees are being liberated! The man filming is looking for his family while documenting this. “How could we believe this is happening”. #Syria

Historically not always the case. Negotiations often happen while the war is ongoing. Precedents: Vietnam peace talks (1968-1973). Afghanistan peace talks (1982-1988). Korean armistice talks (1951-53).

Israel has rapidly accelerated its destruction of Rafah in April and May. It's hard to understand the magnitude of this, even when spending time analyzing recent satellite imagery. From me, Samuel Granados, Aaron Boxerman, and Riley Mellen. Gift link: nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Nick Mad Mikkelsen ⚔️🏴‍☠️ Roman Sheremeta 🇺🇸🇺🇦 My hypothesis about this is that Ukraine in NATO was a long time red line. Ie none of the Russian calculations were about either an *imminent* threat (from NATO) nor about an *imminent* ascension of Ukraine into NATO. Long term red line simply means, RU wanted to prevent this

I would think that at this point Ukraine would benefit more from a mutual ban on long-range strikes than from this authorisation. Wouldn't it?

Is the Ukraine war crushing Russia’s economy? Quite the opposite As usual, I’d quibble about the title (we can’t understate the systemic damage being sone to the economy, regardless of how individuals currently feel) but here’s my latest for The Times and The Sunday Times thetimes.com/world/russia-u…

This may be difficult to accept, but when I first raised concerns about Ukraine’s offensive operations in the Kursk region, I correctly anticipated that it could ultimately lead to Russian forces retaking Kursk and then advancing gradually into Sumy Oblast, and eventually toward
