Fantastic science work today, investigating different muscle groups. We learnt the scientific names for the different muscles and watched a chicken leg being directed to reveal the muscles and tendons!

We are learning to use inference when we read. That means ‘reading between the lines’. Using evidence from the text, we can say what we THINK… This poster helps us to organise our thinking. Try it at home… PlantationPrimaryLiteracy

Here’s a link to the song that we’re practising in class. Please practise as much as you can at home. Look out for our special performance of this to be posted to our school website next week. youtube.com/watch?v=9NkSEQ…

As part of our ‘Amazing Bodies’ topic, we looked at how the shape of animal’s bodies helps them to move. We wondered if the people with the longest legs could run the fastest and we tested it out! Ask your children to explain what they found out…

We are learning to proof-read and edit our work. That means reading it back again once we have written it to check for errors or to make it better. We can stick over an editing strip to write our improved sentence on top. Here is a good example from Izabella. PlantationPrimaryLiteracy

The Four Times Table. This week, we’re starting our 4x table. Please practise skip-counting. That means using a rhythm to say, “one four is 4, two fours are 8, three fours are 12” etc. Also practise saying the twos using skip-counting also. Amazing descriptive writing today, 3F! After reading #varmints by Helen Ward and Marc Craste, they wrote beautiful descriptions of the setting at the start of the story. Tomorrow, we write about the contrasting setting. PlantationPrimaryLiteracy

Well done to Jake for a huge improvement in his reading. He has been practising so much and we can really see the difference. Fraser has worked very hard on his stop- frame animations this week. Very proud.

Lots of children were passionate about today’s news story in our assembly and wanted to sign the petition themselves. Here’s a link to explain it more, if you want to discuss it at home. bbc.co.uk/newsround/av/6…

Amazing work on different representations of division problems. If Jola has 16 cakes and shares equally between four plates, how many cakes per plate? Thanks ok for the ideas. Why not try this at home and make up some of your own similar problems? nrich.maths.org/content/id/830…

We’ve been writing on our tables again! 😲 This time, we investigated adding suffixes to root words. We look at the last letter and then decide whether we , “Do nothing, swap, double or drop” that final letter. PlantationPrimaryLiteracy

Parents of 3F, It has been an honour to teach your children, as it has been for each and every class that I have had since 1999. I will never forget Plantation and the wonderful children I have taught or the amazing staff that I have worked with. Thank you, Mr Fillis
