The following players won't participate in the scrimmage, per Mike Vrabel: WR Mack Hollins CB Christian Gonzalez CB Carlton Davis III DL Keion White OT Vederian Lowe C Garrett Bradbury RB Antonio Gibson LB Jahlani Tavai DT Joshua Farmer G/T Sidy Sow

Coaching for scrimmage: Blue head coach: Zak Kuhr Blue OC: Josh McDaniels White head coach: Thomas Brown White DC: Terrell Williams Blue captains: QB Drake Maye, LB Christian Elliss, S Jaylinn Hawkins White captains: TE Hunter Henry, S Jabrill Peppers, ST Brenden Schooler

Mike Vrabel on scrimmage: "Try to approach it as close to a game as we can. Special teams - we'll be punting the football. Punt return - we'll have returners back there and a couple full-field covers. We'll have plus-50. We'll have some different kicking situations. "And then

Turnovers coming fast and furious ... Maye's pass deflected for Spillane INT, followed by a Hawkins pick off a halfback option. Stevenson fumble on the next play recovered by the White Team for third TO of the night.

Andy Borregales connected for a 42-yard FG ... good for 1 point in the modified Vrabel/Stretch scoring system. White Team up 31-22

White team responds with a hurry-up drive that ends with a 33-yard Parker Romo FG for a 46-37 lead. Maye's ball with 1:45 left from his own 25

Alex Austin jumps an out-route from Maye to seal the win for the White Team ... 3 TOs for the Blue offense on the night.

Disappointing news for Marcellas Dial (ACL). The 2nd-year CB looked like the top option behind Marcus Jones at nickel. Also a core 4 special teamer. Pats scoop up Tre' Avery who had been cut by SF. He's got experience playing for Vrabel in Tenn.

In recent days, the Patriots have seen their RB ranks thinned, as Rhamondre Stevenson hasn't practiced since the preseason opener, Lan Larison (foot) was placed on IR, Terrell Jennings (possibly heat related) didn't finish Monday, and newly-signed Deneric Prince wasn't on field.

Various reports saying Andy Borregales has won the kicking battle. Both kickers were solid all summer ... it will be interesting to see if the Patriots look to keep Parker Romo on the practice squad at least initially as insurance
