Great to see the RL for LM gaining momentum again in recent years and doing even better. It reminds me of stepwise reward models with RL for LM in 2018. We discussed the stepwise Q-value for LM with RL in arxiv.org/pdf/1808.05599 and the early PPO on LM in arxiv.org/pdf/1808.07982.
