When we give #addiction the power to control us, we are also giving it the power to destroy us, to evaporate our dreams, to extinguish our careers, redefine our goals, & truly bleed the life out of us. #Recovery is where will, & strength can be redirected toward success again!

#Addiction keep others from seeing the real you. It blankets feelings & emotions. They stay hidden behind walls the heart & mind create. It also weakens the way we think. It overpowers our thought process. It breeds poor choices. It harnesses vitality while limiting ability.

Pat your kids on the back often. You can't reach a limit on the amount of encouragement they need. Your words are powerful. Empower them!

With #addiction, what works for one may not work for another. For me, understanding that it is also a spiritual issue helped. I believe that if you diligently work to heal yourself spiritually, if you seek God as a source of strength in your life, you can, & will #recover.

I found to overcome #addiction you have to learn how to control thoughts because they influence feelings, & feelings impact actions. What we think, we become, is a very real principle. How we deal with all the random, tempting thoughts that engulf the mind, defines our direction.

In #recovery I learned that joy doesn't come to us by how well we manage, maintain, or manipulate outward circumstances. No, it comes from how well we develop our inward strength, our relationship with God, & how persistently we continue to seek him.

I found #addiction causes us to be consumed with our self, & when we are consumed with ourselves, we forget about the God that can help change & redirect our life in so many unique & wonderful transforming ways.

Prayer was the most powerful tool I used to overcome #addiction. By simply talking to God, I learned how to express all of my needs, worries, fears, all that troubled me. The more I prayed, the more growth & change I experienced. When God's peace appeared, my anxiety disappeared!

When we think about what we're capable of doing to better ourselves throughout recovery, our lives, we need to think also about how much more we're capable of achieving if we allow God to do what he's capable of doing through us. What we do is limited, what God does is limitless.

Maturity in #recovery comes from both a combination of time & mistakes. Relapses, mistakes happen, but they're never as important as what can be learned from them. A satisfying life isn't measured by what we accomplish in life, but by what we overcome, in order to accomplish it.

Encouragement can change another's life, turn it in the right direction. It's one of the most powerful ways we can help. I found there's always someone who needs it, needs inspiration. That's when we need to step to the plate, when our cream rises to the top. #addiction #recovery

Broken lives, broken homes, broken hearts, broken people is what #addiction brings to lives that choose to play with its fire. There's no happiness in a household when someones life is ruled by it. There is no harmony, or peace. There is no truth, or trust! So choose #recovery!

#Recovery's about learning the significance of surrender, forgiveness, truth, trust, faith, & love. It's having a heart that forgives, & then gives it back. It's overcoming obstacles that hold us back. It's gaining confidence & strength for all the things in life we have to face.

When #addiction totally possessed me, my soul never felt peace, my mind had an uneasy decisiveness, & my heart was consumed with insecurity. I found life created deterioration, decline, & descent on its own. Allowing addiction to weaken & corrode my well being was unacceptable.

#Addiction penetrates, infiltrates, & gains access to a heart, a soul, each mind, a family, relationships, the unsuspecting, the susceptible, vulnerable, the filthy rich or the dirty poor, weak or strong. You can't bury your head in the sand, to the difficulties that it creates.

Sorry to any of my new followers, or old followers. I am unable to follow any more according to Twitter at this time. Ridiculous! I will follow whenever I'm allowed to again!

In my life I found out that #addiction is extremely powerful, but not as powerful as the power of God! When I tuned in "completely" to that saving power available to me, my life changed, and I recovered! Simply put, if you want to overcome addiction, give the Lord a chance!

Life gives all of us special moments we to excel in special ways. So please don't let the wrong people, bad attitudes, bad habits, bad thoughts, an unloving, unwilling, or unforgiving heart limit your acceleration in any way. Give yourself a gift, the very best chance to succeed!
