Today, 6th grader Felicita Piñón, who uses a power wheelchair, patiently waited hours to testify against SB2 at the Texas Capitol. She shared how private schools turned her & her siblings away due to disabilities. Stand up for public schools! Get involved:bit.ly/3PVSxSc

#SB2 is another voucher scam💸, & we aren’t buying it. Our Texas team hit the Capitol to tell lawmakers that we should be fully funding public schools, not creating a voucher program for the wealthiest few. Let’s fund public education & reject all voucher schemes ❌ #txlege

Today, the #TexasSenate will take up #SB2, this year's version is the same old tired voucher bill. I said it two years ago... vouchers are a resurgence of the "Lost Cause" fights of the 1950s.

NEW: While Gov. Greg Abbott says that Texas' per-student and overall public school funding is at an “all-time high,” many districts are facing massive budget shortfalls. @Statesman's comprehensive data analysis indicates why that's the case. #txlege 🧵1/

🚨 Today the House Pub Ed committee will hear #HB3, its version of a voucher bill. We will be testifying against this bill. We need to strengthen our public schools, not let politicians take money from public schools to pay for vouchers. Watch live ⬇️ house.texas.gov/videos
