Just been out for my first play with the Canon R5 ii and what an amazing piece of kit Had very limited time this aft so headed to a garden bird spot The eye focusing is so much faster than the R5 and gets less confused in busy areas of foliage Back out soon to look for hares

Just done a first in camera stack with the Canon R5 II Rachel had spotted this common hawker (I think?) in the back garden I had to grab some step ladders and it was windy! Thought I'd try the focus bracketing and in the new camera it does a stacked jpeg for you which is this

Saw my first fly agarics of the year today in the Cairngorms Defo felt a bit more autumnal But after all that wet weather and then a warm spell the midges are minging

After a hard 24 hours of rain the camping spot is looking pretty water logged Ducks are enjoying a it Now there’s a respite in the rain the midges are out with vengeance Scottish holidays 😹

Was another wet day in the Cairngorms so rather than the planned mountain hike we went to Highland Wildlife Park Animals seemed to be very well cared for, staff v knowledgeable and some good photo opps Like this arctic fox in full summer coat

Cairn Lodge used to be average services but it’s now been bought by the Teabay Services company so now they sell the best sausage rolls in the world :-)

Defo feeding time down at St Aidens at the moment for the humbug great crested grebe chicks :) Nice to catch up with people too. R5II brilliant for these types of shots
