It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Deputy Chief Donald “Dinky” Apostolico. Dinky was a 63 year life active member of our department. Joining Ossining Hose Company No. 1 in 1956, Dinky rose through the ranks of Assistant Forman to Foreman, held many positions..

within his company and eventually moved up to Assistant Chief and then Chief in 1983. He eventually became the infamous “Dispatcher 42” for the OFD and continued to brighten everyone’s day with the “Noon Time Test”. Dinky’s legacy is carrying on with his Son-in-law and grandson..
