Spent the day with wonderful family and heroic friends rescuing our 100 young stock. Milk cows and baby calves left yest. Fed chickens and cats. Our awesome neighbour driving JD had to guess at roads and driveways to deliver to waiting trailers down the road. #BCFlood

"We need to stop moaning, face the reality and do the right thing," said Dr. Peter Jüni, who is calling for 'circuit breaker' measures in Ontario. "What do you do if you're on a beach and the tsunami is coming? ...You say, oh there's no tsunami? No, you can't."

I read somewhere that a cow puts out 4000BTU/hr, and I needed all of them this morning. It was -27c outside and a comfortable 2.2c in the barn. #ontag

Please understand that pointing to the lack of police violence against the convoy protesters is not a call for violence. It's pointing out that the absence of police violence is possible and should be expected when protesting, especially for Black and Indigenous communities.

People in urban areas across Canada are going to remember images like this the next time farmers want something from parliament. And they’re not going to remember it fondly.

As an industry, Agriculture has always faced a lot of challenges and there are lots of groups out there working hard to make that connection to make that connection to the urban public to help the other 98% of the population see our view.

I'm convinced that all the gravitational, magnetic, nuclear, and electrical forces in the universe combined would pale in comparison to the frictional force holding these two buckets together. I give up. #farmerproblems

Freezing rain and ice pellets outside means the buses are canceled today. Great opportunity to practice speed sprints in the barn. 🙂 #CdnAgDay

it's been a few years (like 12) since I've posted on my fingerstyle guitar YouTube channel. I'm back at it now. Check it out if you're into that kind of thing. 🙂 youtu.be/L3sQJ_MwPas

I'm really glad I built sand bedding storage space on the end of the new barn. This pile should last through the half load season, likely until the end of May. Also makes for a pretty sweet playground 😉

It’s been a good growing season on #Manitoulin. SiloBuster from Speare Seeds is yielding 7.6 bales/acre! Silage corn looks healthy as well. We’ve had some helpful rains at the right time. My crop scouts approve 😁

Hey #ontag.... what is considered acceptable time window for spreading liquid manure on fresh cut alfalfa ground? I’ve heard 48 hr. Would 72 be pushing it?

I’d been dreading this sand manure clean-out job. I’m pleased to say it wasn’t bad after all. Hardest part was lining up help to run spreaders etc. #ontag

This homemade stall groomer has been a huge work saver. Just need some 4x4 steel post and some flat bar. I have an extra bucket, so I just leave it bolted on. Easy to remove if needed.
