So when you see a headline like this, you don’t need to do much digging - just give it a quick sense check. How likely is it that 70% of customers are lost overnight for a bridal shop, with excellent public transport links, cos they all drive 20yo cars…. 12/12

A national cycle championship: an event specifically set up for cyclists, where they can concentrate on the race, instead of worrying about people being careless in cars. But when a support driver hits one, you'll still find a dinosaur saying "she should have got out of the way".

On the Bike Blog, I argue that the latest moral panic about cyclists is yet example of how the UK argues furiously around the margins of modernising towns and cities, while many other countries just get on with building stuff that improves lives. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/b…

Ex-councillor wants a fireman's pole from his bed to his car seat, and a lift from his parking spot to the office, so he can avoid stepping outside at all -- and thinks this makes him the "voice of sanity", representing "the mass of right-thinking people".

Well done, people of the UK -- your efforts have saved 210 hours of daylight this year. If you rely on removable/rechargeable lights, now's the time to check they're still present and charged.
