Still miss this guy - on this day 2018 we lost him too soon - he would have loved the warmth, fun and quirks of our election campaign - photographic evidence here.

Our hearts are full of grief and sadness today at the passing of our own Jenny Randerson. Jenny was a great friend and colleague to us all, and worked so hard for the Lib Dem group in the Lords, as she'd done for the Party the whole of her life. She was one of the very best.

On Wednesday, I’m presenting a bill for an 🇪🇺EU-UK Youth Mobility Scheme🇬🇧 Labour must step up and back this—it’s time for action. Young people have lost out on so much due to the Tories' awful Brexit deal—not least the chance to study, work, and experience life in Europe.

Big respect to Olly Grender who called out the government yesterday for increasing taxes on charities whilst letting banks keep the tax cuts they received under the last government. Reversing those cuts could generate billions 👉 positivemoney.org/press-release/… #TaxTheBanks

Nearby local authorities are justifiably worried about the effects #Woking Borough Council's debt might have on them after the local government reorganisation and I'm very grateful to Baroness Grender for raising this issue in the House of Lords last week.

We are so pleased that our own Mark Pack 🔶 will be formally Introduced into the House of Lords today. Mark will bring a deep knowledge of electoral law and constitutional matters, and will continue his work of making politics more open, understandable and transparent.

🚨BREAKING🚨 A massive win for Lib Dem Lords as the House of Lords votes by 305 to 175 in favour of our amendment to exempt care providers, NHS GP practices, NHS dentists and others from the upcoming rise in NI contributions. The Government should listen and respond accordingly.

📣 On the day that ~3000 carers and care providers marched on Parliament to demand the govt fix the social care crisis, I’m delighted that Lib Dem Lords 🔶pushed again to exempt care providers from the jobs tax - and won. Now we need Labour in the Commons to u-turn and agree.

The BBC are so obsessed with pandering to Reform UK that they are refusing to show Ed Davey calling out Nigel Farage's divisive and destructive politics. Watch it here instead:

Our Fatal Motion which would have blocked the acceleration of planned cuts to support payments for farmers has been voted down. You see see from the lack of blue here, who didn’t show up to support us. 👇👇 votes.parliament.uk/votes/lords/di…

And in fact only 21 Tory peers bothered to vote in favour of their own (much weaker) Regret Motion on the farming issue. This is 7.5% of their group in the House of Lords. 🧐🧐 See breakdown here 👇👇 votes.parliament.uk/votes/lords/di…

NEW: RRC research has found 3.8 million renters are struggling to afford essentials. The Renters' Rights Bill is so important but doesn't address affordability. Baroness Olly Grender's amendment would launch a review of rent affordability and solutions. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
