This cool paper uses data from millions of smartphone users and shows that there are racial disparities in voting wait times. "Relative to entirely-white neighborhoods, residents of entirely-black neighborhoods waited 29% longer to vote."

In the 1960s and 70s, Czechoslovak animation was the bees’ knees—often remarkably subversive, considering. If you remember them from then, this short—Crabs, from 1976—will be a bit of nostalgia, if not, it’ll give you an idea what I’m on about: buff.ly/D3aa4yP

i believe in getting rid of all undocumented immigrants in the US by putting them on a path to citizenship, presuming they are not violent criminals.

The freedom for all citizens, including journalists, to rant against government officials is as American as apple pie and a key bulwark that protects democracy.

There is nothing that makes me more patriotic, and more proud to be an American, than seeing an immigrant waving the American flag. Anyone who tries to tell you to not be patriotic at this, whether on the right or on the left, is wrong.

I shared my story because I think the narrative about undocumented immigrants has become very slanted in order to justify crackdowns. It doesn't help when people think that all undocumented immigrants are criminals who hate the US. The ones I know are good, hardworking people.

Think of all the ink spilled over the past 8 years loudly declaring Republicans as the party of free speech because conservative speakers were subject to campus boycotts.

NEW: The first U.S. bishop appointed by Pope Leo XIV—a refugee himself—is mobilizing priests to accompany migrants at immigration court on June 20. This is the kind of leadership Leo’s picking.

ICE is now arresting Afghan allies—at their first court hearing—after they entered legally via CBP One, filed asylum + SIV paperwork, and followed every damn rule. They’re using “improvidently issued” like a magic phrase to disappear people. We have the video. #AfghanEvac
