A few months ago I shared a pic of an Aberdeen memorial bench with 16 plaques on it. As obituaries writer for The Press and Journal I set about trying to find the stories behind each one. Chuffed to say I did it! 16 plaques, 13 families traced, 11 stories of life, love and loss. A 🧵

Hands off Torry: our slogan protesting Aberdeen City Council's plan to industrialize Torry greenspace, St Fitticks Park. We have the incinerator, old landfill, sewage treatment plant, and oil storage: we've carried our share of development. Join our fight! bit.ly/3ZoNOfv

ACA is partnering with the Old Torry Community Centre to plant bulbs and trees in Torry this February. Join us for this inclusive outdoor activity to enjoy bursts of colour come spring time and to make the city attractive to people and pollinators! eventbrite.co.uk/e/winter-bulb-…

Given continuous bad weather and very slippery conditions, for safety reasons and with regret, there will be no planting tomorrow afternoon
