Hey #GameDev folks! What are people using to do Lip Sync keyframing these days? Blender is cumbersome and finnicky for this specific purpose. Rhubarb and Allosaurus produce results too low quality to use in production. Oculus Lip Sync is incredibly janky.

Incredibly small tuning values can have outsized impacts that make a game feel completely unplayable. It takes hours or days to calibrate these, and requires a really good internal feedback loop. This work is undervalued versus shipping features, but it's VITAL for game feel!

Weird take of the night, but the fact that we can figure out how to play games with birds probably bodes well for us if we ever meet aliens.

Sharing a #UE5 trick for injecting light into Lumen when you want to better light an area, or allow transparent objects to better light an area. I hadn't seen this done elsewhere and it seems to work pretty well without major performance problems.

As someone ALSO making cool games with their Wife (And friends!), this was an easy back for me, and congrats to the Fading Skies team for coming so far! Support small teams! Back neat projects!

An eternity ago when I still did LARP Design, I always wanted to make the Buster Sword a viable build but it inevitably had so much mass it could do actual damage to people... during a playtest someone took a hit to the solar plexus and almost had to go to the hospital.

Financialization is ruining the industry like it's ruining everything else it touches. The people making decisions on how creative products are made, should be the creatives.

It's weird being on vacation. First long break from work in AGES and I've mostly slept and done chores the past two days. I don't look quite as much like Emperor Palpatine anymore.

I've been behind the scenes putting together a new studio, working on a narrative heavy Science Fantasy Action-RPG codenamed Moonstone. Looking forward to being able to share more in the future! #screenshotsaturday #indiegame #gamedev
