An approved request from @washoesheriff thru Governor Joe Lombardo has authorized more Nevada Guard personnel to support local agencies on the #DavisFire, bringing total Guard personnel working the emergency -- neighborhood security, aerial firefighting, hand crew -- to more than 100.

The Nevada Guard’s Firefighting Hand Crew team has worked 14-16 hour shifts each day since Sunday, digging fire lines, clearing hotspots and removing vegetation nearby homes threatened by the #DavisFire. They are embedded with Nevada Division of Forestry teams.

We’re making progress fighting the #DavisFire, and we’re continuing to deploy every possible federal, state, and local asset in this fight. Thank you for your continued cooperation as local jurisdictions ensure safety throughout the evacuation process.
