Beautiful strong G2 level #AuroraBorealis in Winona, MN overlooking the Mississippi River Valley at work. Photos captured via Galaxy s22 ultra and expert RAW app. They were less colorful to the eye as they were still far away, but brightly visible. #mnwx #wiwx Visit Winona

Northern lights were out all night last night near Bloomer, Wisconsin but for ten minutes put on this awesome pillar display, rest of the night was just a green arc with ribbons at times. Best show I have seen since November, maybe longer!! A.J. Waterman Darren Maier Brooke Brighton

ALL RED! Kp index during the last 7 three-hour intervals was at least 5-. This is attributable to the fast solar wind (still ~550 km/s) and frequent southward magnetic field (hard to predict). This fast wind must have come from the scary coronal hole near the solar equator

Hi followers! We aren't going anywhere. Still reading watching and posting #spacewx news. Been busy with a personal project, but this is still the best place to get timely, relevant info. #aurora

Big X1.4 #flare this morning from AR13182. Check it out in this AIA 171 image from #SDO. Let's keep an eye on this active region - might make some #aurora over the next 3-9 days

Well, well 2 weeks today was the last M or X class solar flare. Today Active Region AR13405 broke the doldrums with an M1.1, since this region is in the Earth Strike Zone, any associated CME would be Earth directed. Here are two images of the eruption, one in 131A and the other

Spectacular global coronal wave that accompanied the CME associated with the latest X3.3 flare in AR 13575. This is a scale-up version of the previous M5.1 and M4.0 events from the same region. This flare could have been ~X10 if not occulted by the limb.
