NASA released the first image from the James Webb Space Telescope, the #JWST, yesterday. The resulting image had a total exposure time of 12.5 hours and is the most detailed image of the early universe to date.

Compare that to the first deep field image of the cosmos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 1995. Creating this image took 342 separate exposures, with a total exposure time of 100+ hours.

The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite has separated from its SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. SWOT begins #TrackingWorldWater now and will cover the Earth's surface worldwide at least twice every 21 days for at least three years.
