The pandemic will change how we approach #climate action. Read about it here, and yell at me if you think I'm wrong. medium.com/@nicholasgd311…

“The next decade for climate change is the equivalent of what February was for Coronavirus: our chance to get it at least partly right.” Bill McKibben on a great episode of #DeepBackgroundPod with @NoahRFeldman

I know your pain, your rage, your sense of despair and hopelessness. Justice has, indeed, been denied for far too long. Rioting, looting, and burning is not the way. Organize. Demonstrate. Sit-in. Stand-up. Vote. Be constructive, not destructive. johnlewis.house.gov/media-center/p…

Like all Americans, our tireless Congressional staff have the right to organize their workplace and join together in a union. If and when staffers choose to exercise that right, they would have Speaker Pelosi’s full support.

I’ve always supported workers and their right to organize and unionize and I support Congressional staffers in these efforts. It’s time for us to vote to give all staff the workplace rights and wages they deserve.

We rallied in Phoenix today in celebration of #EarthDay and to call on leaders in the Senate and across the country to deliver on climate change, energy, jobs and health. This fight isn’t just about us. It’s a fight for future generations.

For STAT, I wrote about circadian rhythms and how they intertwine the lives of parasites, their hosts, and the scientists who study them. Thanks Filipa Rijo-Ferreira for sharing your story with me! statnews.com/2022/11/21/par…

I wrote about Amir Baniassadi — recently named one of the STAT #StatWunderkinds — and how he wants to improve climate resiliency among older adults by thinking critically about their homes. statnews.com/2023/10/19/ami…

Interesting: Per a new report from the Congressional Budget Office, the deployment of the National Guard in D.C. (now up to 2,950 troops) cost $223 million from August-December, and will cost $55 million per month onwards. That means up to *$880 million* through the end of 2026.
