This Presidents' Day, we remember that many of the leaders who’ve served as our nation’s Commander-in-Chief were also veterans who answered the call to serve before holding the highest office in the land.

NH's 1st Infantry returned Feb 20, 1017 from the Mexican border. Their civilian life was short-lived. By April 6, 1917, the "Border Boys" were called to join the 26th "Yankee" Division. From the Rio Grande to the Western Front, the grit of the Granite State never wavered. 🇺🇸⛰️

For #MedalOfHonor Monday, we remember Pvt. Joseph S.G. Sweatt (6th Mass. Infantry). During the Battle of Carrsville (1863), Sweatt ignored orders to retreat, instead charging BACK into heavy fire to rescue wounded comrades. He stayed with them until he was captured. 🎖️🇺🇸
