TONIGHT Reid Sutherland of Mitacs will discuss the Sharks of Nova Scotia. Reid has spent her entire life on ocean: surfing, sailing, tagging sharks, & working #SearchAndRescue with Canadian Coast Guard. She's also worked with DFO & OCEARCH, & is passionate about all things shark.
TONIGHT Alex Hancock will present Our deep-sea neighbors: the complex lives of cold water corals in the Maritimes. Alex is a Dalhousie University marine biology grad student working with deep-sea corals, especially those found in the waters surrounding Nova Scotia.
TONIGHT Sarah Fortune will be taking us on a Deep dive into the world of whales. Sarah is an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University and Canadian Wildlife Federation Chair in Large Whale Conservation. She studies #whales using biologgers, remote sensing and in-situ ocean sampling of their prey.

This evening, Ana Eguiguren will introduce us to Friends and foes: exploring sperm whale behaviour through drone videography. A Dalhousie University PhD student, Ana is primarily interested in how sperm whales relate to one another and cooperatively care for their young.
