I wrote this in 2015. I can't believe I'm still having to share it in the hope that I can make people understand what this situation is like for us. Disability and illness don't just disappear! #helenswriting #DisabilityBenefits #DisabilityRebellion

You’ve got to be a special kind of tragic to be jealous of disabled people for having things that enable them to try and live the best life they can. Trust me, we’d gladly swap our disabilities etc… for a body that functions….

Three disabled people who lost relatives as a result of past reforms to disability benefits have spoken of their horror at the Labour government’s plans to cut billions of pounds from the system. disabilitynewsservice.com/pip-cuts-will-…

Dear #Media Just a quick reminder that #PIP is both an IN AND out of work support system. It is to help with the extra costs having a #Disability incurs. It is to help us LIVE in and access a very unequal and unfair society. PLEASE report responsibly! #DisabilityBenefits

The DWP's own statistics put the rate of PIP fraud at between 0% and 0.3%. The government's plans will potentially remove PIP from a million people - more then 25% of claimants. This is like evicting an entire town because one person MIGHT be squatting in a basement.

Force sick and disabled people into work—and you don’t save money. You fuel suicide. Worsen illness. Deepen stigma. Break lives. This isn’t reform. It’s cruelty and it will kill time and time again. #DisabilityBenefits

#WelfareNotWarfare Get your facts straight Reeves! Personal independence Payments (PIP) Is to meet a disabled person’s Additional costs as a disabled person is not means tested Stop calling it an out of work benefit. That’s an outright lie

Helen Sims Please take a look, donate and retweet! Ask Katie is a hygiene bank I set up a couple of years ago in Nuneaton. As the cost of living increases more people are falling into hygiene and period poverty. gofundme.com/f/please-help-…

When Phillip Hammond was Chancellor he blamed disabled people in work for low productivity. Now disabled people are being blamed for not doing enough to find work. We can't win! #WelfareNotWarfare

Wow! Thank you for the response to my poem. I wasn't expecting that. To log back on and see all those 'shares' and 'likes' has meant a lot. I'll respond more when I'm feeling a bit better. Love, H. X #helenswriting

Helen Sims The hygiene bank that I setup and run was in our local news this week. We have a £1k target to reach. I costs around £100 for us to open each week. Please help us out by taking a look, sharing and donating if you can. coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-new…
