Out now Cell Stem Cell! Using 3 systems, patient samples, and 10x Genomics scRNASeq we found that early-stage lung cancer cells have reduced lineage identity. Thanks to Kim lab, co-first author Nella, Darrell Kotton and Jane Yanagawa Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Alfred M. Mays cell.com/cell-stem-cell…

Great collaborative effort from the Carla Kim lab, Darrell Kotton lab, Yanagawa and Dubinett labs, combining organoid models, mouse models, and human patient data to study early stage lung cancer. Thanks to my co-first author Aaron L. Moye, PhD and Cell Stem Cell cell.com/cell-stem-cell…

Out today in the new issue Cell Stem Cell: Our Resource exploring early-stage lung cancer Thank you for the preview Jihan Osborne, PhD, and John Minna, MD. Aaron L. We are delighted to announce that our review on macrophages in lung cancer has been published in eLife - the journal. It was a pleasure to work on this with 🏳️🌈🇺🇦Katarína Balážová 🇪🇺🔬 and Hans Clevers. The Clevers Lab Hubrecht Institute #organoids doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…

Rare cell type in the spotlight: Transcriptomic profile comparison reveals ionocyte core signature across multiple mammalian organs. Read it here in Scientific Reports by Carla Pou Casellas and @Cayetanopm: doi.org/10.1038/s41598… #ionocytes #transcriptomics

My final paper at @BCHStemCell Harvard Medical School @Carlakimlab merges cancer, inflammation and cell plasticity - we identified an injury/plastic state as essential for lung repair that is co-opted by early-stage LUAD! Exciting to see similar findings from Humam Kadara et al. in Nature

A #RESPIRE4 Fellow meetup at the ERS #LSC2024 was convened in #Estoril 🇵🇹 today by ERS Fellowships & Awards Director Sejal Saglani (6th, from left) featuring Melanie Königshoff (1st) & Rory Morty (9th), who led a workshop on grant proposal writing. Having a great time at the #ERSCongress in Vienna. Lots of great networking with my fellow ERS Early-Career Members members Carola Voss 🦋 The Clevers Lab

Pre-print alert! A primary human alveolar #organoid model that allows for 1) long-term expansion of progenitors; 2) AT2 maturation; 3) AT1 differentiation in defined media. Regenerating AT2s and AT1s show opposite responses to IFN-gamma! The Clevers Lab biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
